City Guide: Holly Ryan's favourite spots on the Sunshine Coast

“The community’s commitment to protecting our beautiful natural environment makes where I live incredibly special.”

Here at Fashion Journal, we want to unearth the hidden spots in Australian cities that only the locals know about. There’s no gatekeeping here – this is a breakdown of the best bits of our cities. We want the underrated date spots, favourite restaurants, treasure trove op shops and the bars people will always want to go back to.

This week we’re exploring the Sunshine Coast with jeweller and sculpture artist Holly Ryan. Holly grew up on the Sunshine Coast before moving to Brisbane to study fashion. After 10 years there and five years in Sydney, Holly recently returned home where she says life is slow and easy.

“The abundance of thriving natural ecosystems and the community’s commitment to protecting our beautiful natural environment makes where I live incredibly special,” she shares.

And as for her ideal day? It consists of “Coffee at home, followed by a quick hike up Mount Ninderry with my golden retriever Hugo, a swim or surf at Little Cove followed by a seafood lunch at Rails and then sunset by the fire back home at the cottage”. Read on for her recommendations.

One of Holly’s top dining out recommendations is Alba by Kuruvita, a beautifully designed venue by renowned local chef, Peter Kuravita. A combination of a cafe, pizzeria, providore, cocktail bar and linen-set restaurant, there’s sure to be something for everyone.,000-on-plastic-surgery-but-can-t-find-love-as-men-treat-her-like-toy

Another of Holly’s favourites is Izakaya Ate. A casual Japanese eatery, the venue is known for its delicious array of food which you can pair with its impressive selection of international drinks.

If you’re after something a little more homemade, Holly suggests heading to the Noosa Farmer’s Markets for some freshly caught fish which is best “cooked over the fire at the beach”.

Holly likes getting the night started with a cocktail at Light Years, which is known for its modern Asian dining experience and unique cocktail menu.

Another of Holly’s favourite spots for a drink is the Apollonian Hotel. Built in the 1866 during the gold rush era, the venue has wide wrap-around verandahs, a large beer garden and live music.

Holly also recommends making room on your trip for “beers at Noosa National Park at sunset”, which sounds pretty divine really.

If you’re in the mood for a spot of shopping, Alterior Motif is one of Holly’s go-to’s. Known for its curated selection of local, sustainable brands, the boutique is a Sunshine Coast institution and has been operating since 2003.

Holly tells us that Thomas Surfboards is “next door to my new shop, which opens at the end of July”, and as a keen surfer, it’s a favourite of hers.

If you’re looking to do a spot of homewares shopping, then Holly suggests checking out Collective Haus. With an array of vintage, mid-century and modern furniture, rugs and clothing – and coffee on offer – it’s the ideal spot to head to on a slow Saturday morning.

If you’re looking to treat yourself, Holly says to check out Ikatan Spa, a lush, destination day spa with tropical gardens, followed by “Massimo’s Gelato or margaritas at Paradise Arcade”.

For a spot of rest and relaxation, Holly will always opt for a day at her cottage. “I live on the side of a mountain. I have six acres of rainforest, a waterfall, a dam, a big veggie patch, a chicken named Lady,紅髮歌姬免費線上看原版台版字幕hk-2022小鴨影音-107tVLHZZ2觀看航海王劇場版:紅髮歌姬-one-piece-film-red-2022-hd-在線免費流媒體-107tVLHZZ4𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦-red-2022-película-completa-o-107tVLHZZ8

a clawfoot bath, [an] indoor fire and a big shed which houses my home workshop. Sometimes I never want to leave!” she tells us. If you’re looking for a similarly wholesome getaway, peruse Stayz and Airbnb for a place of your own.

Celebration-wise, Holly recommends Bistro C “for something more elevated and indoors”. The award-winning beachfront venue lets you take in breathtaking views of Noosa’s Laguna Bay while sampling its impressive menu that’s packed full of fresh local produce.

iPhone 14 Pro: towards a sharp price increase, but Apple will have a trick to accept
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 Pro should be much more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro at the time. This would be even more true in France. Apple will still make a small compensation for passing the pill.

3D rendering of iPhone 14 Pro by Let’s Go Digital and Technizo Concept. // Source: Let’s go digital / Technizo Concept

As expected, the tech industry is heading straight for a price increase in general. For Apple, it’s out of the question to touch the sacred margins that made the company rich. Therefore, it should be necessary to increase the prices of products, starting with the iPhone 14 Pro.

Price up to 15% more

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo came to the same conclusion. When it comes to Apple and its sources of supply, the specialist has publicly posted his information on Twitter.

We can read there that the average price of the iPhone 14 range should be on the rise. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, this increase will be about 15% compared to the launch prices of the iPhone 13 line. The average price will come to $1,000 to $1,050, mainly due to the increase in the higher iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro.

Stronger increase even in France
The iPhone 13 Pro was launched in the United States at a price of $ 999 and in France at a price of 1159 euros, at a time when the dollar and the euro were not equivalent. If the US rate rises to $1099, we wouldn’t dare imagine what the French tariff would offer, incorporating both the new euro clause and this price increase.

At the current conversion rate, the $1,099 price gives 1,067 euros excluding VAT, without incorporating VAT, customs duties or various taxes such as those levied on private copies. This should give a French price of close to 1,299 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro.

Apple’s advice to digest the excess
This pass from 1159 to 1299 euros, many of you can accept without hesitation. For this, Apple will have a trick that the brand has already used in the past.

According to TrendForce, the iPhone 14 Pro should incorporate 256GB of storage by default for the first configuration, versus 128GB for the iPhone 13 Pro.

Today, it takes 1279 euros to buy the iPhone 13 Pro 256 GB. If our calculations are correct, this may give the impression that the iPhone 14 Pro 256 GB at 1299 euros is “only” 20 euros more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro in equivalent capacity. Which gives the impression that Apple has simply removed the least profitable configuration.

Obviously, this means forget that the meaning of history in computing goes to increasing capabilities for a falling price. Every year, computers of all sizes, from smartphones to laptops, offer more performance, more RAM, and more storage space at a flat rate. Hiding a price increase through a change in storage configurations is not the historical trend.

See you in September to discover Apple’s options.

Pixel 7 and 7 Pro: Photo Template, Design, Tensor Slide Everything We Know

Pixel 7 and 7 Pro: Photo Template, Design, Tensor Slide Everything We Know

After the success of the Pixel 6 that the public seems to be finding themselves in (Google claims it sells better than the Pixel 4 and 5 combined), Mountain View has finally formalized the arrival of the Pixel 7 this fall. and Pixel 7 Pro.

Only, the giant didn’t say it all. So let’s summarize here the exact elements on these flagships, as they have been brought up by Google, and then let’s also take a look at the rumors we consider reliable about points not addressed during their harassment.

Aluminum that changes everything
When the launch is successful, moving to the next version can sometimes be a complicated decision. Should we decide with the former or continue its momentum? Google, for its part, decided to keep the basics of the Pixel 6, but by putting more resources into it.

By this we mean that the image block, which is a highly visible element on the back of the smartphone, will here be made from a piece of 100% recycled aluminium. What instantly gives a more premium look to its phones.

Especially since Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners specifically complain that their mass of photos is the first part of the smartphone to suffer from wear. With a solid material, we can expect even more durability.

On the other hand, according to Youtubeur Marques Brownlee (also known as MKBHD), Google will keep the same type of glossy glass, passing on the idea of a matte coating again.

As for the rest of the design, the two phones look pretty close to the older ones, except that the two wide-angle and ultra-wide angle sensors will now be surrounded by a rectangular bubble, while the third in the Pro, perhaps a telephoto lens, is insulated in its own punch.

One thing is for sure, having shown the design so early should put an end to rumors about it. However, the front side was not shown during the show. Does this mean that Google has kept another revelation under its hat? We think, for example, of a front image sensor hidden under the screen. At the moment, there is no confirmation of this except for possibly a patent in August 2021.

Especially since the user posted pictures of what he claims is a prototype of the Pixel 7 in order to sell it on eBay. The supposed Pixel 7 already has a center punch.

As at Google, product leaks are a true tradition (check out the Pixel Watch at a restaurant), you wouldn’t be surprised to learn that another netizen claims to have used the Pixel 7 Pro for several weeks. The poor man naively thought he had a Pixel 6 Pro. In response: Google formatted the phone and made it malfunction, confirming that it might have been the popular model.

Three colors for each model
Another very important point, the first colors were shown (we imagine other colors may be revealed later) right after the conference.

For the Pixel 7, you can choose between black, white, and lemon yellow, while the Pixel 7 Pro comes in black, white, and grey-green.

Additionally, we note that the back of the phones is quite plain this time around. On the Pixel 6 we can detail two colors, one above the block and one below.

The Pixel 7 range should be based on Android 13. Google is also working to avoid a torrent of bugs that plagued the Pixel 6 when it was released.

TENSOR 2 has been confirmed
The second element that Google confirmed, the second generation of the internal SoC, Google Tensor 2, will equip the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro well. The chip will be manufactured by Samsung at 4nm.

Very good news since it’s partly this chip that made previous models appealing, allowing custom algorithms for AI and photo and video to be managed at the top. However, we hope that Google will be keen on making its chips more powerful, as the first Tensor has clearly been experiencing significant lag, particularly in terms of graphics.

In the picture, why did the winning team change
Google has not committed to giving details about the photo components of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. According to leaker Yogesh Brar, the photo modules will be exactly the same as on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. A second leak in July 2022 confirms this preliminary information.

This wouldn’t be too surprising on the part of the Mountain View company, which has kept the same sensors from the Pixel 2 to the Pixel 5, with a very convincing improvement perspective.

to a smaller screen
Another point overlooked during Google I/O, the Pixel 7 will go from a 6.4-inch screen to a 6.3-inch display. A small change can make a big difference in handling and doesn’t seem completely illogical in light of the premium smartphone market. In fact, Xiaomi owns 12 and Galaxy S22 for example

ux tends to reduce its size this year.

The Pixel 7 Pro for its part will retain its large diagonal of 6.7 inches, which is also a logical choice for the brand’s more equipped smartphone.

Additionally, we learned shortly after the phones were introduced that they will keep the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro’s definitions and refresh rates, which are:

1080 x 2400 pixels and 90Hz for Google Pixel 7;
1440 x 3120 pixels and 120Hz for the Google Pixel 7 Pro.
blurry areas
As you understand, despite the partial formalization of the Pixel 7 by Google, there are still quite a few gray areas on this phone. For example, we don’t know the phone’s charging power, even if we hope the latter will exceed 30W from the Pixel 6, which is very slow in 2022.

Regarding the battery, we do not have reliable information yet. We can simply imagine that Google will equate to 4,614 mAh in the Pixel 6 and 5,003 mAh in the Pixel 6 Pro.

Release date and price
Google announced the launch of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro in the fall of 2022. For comparison, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were announced on October 19, 2021 to be available on October 25. According to FrontPageTech, the date will be brought up a bit with pre-orders from October 6th and an official release on the 13th.

Prices are currently unknown. The Pixel 6 was released at a very solid price compared to the competition. To see if Google is keeping the same strategy or not.

Samsung made a historic agreement: Going for 6G and big changes on the horizon

Comments Off on Samsung made a historic agreement: Going for 6G and big changes on the horizon

There was a time when brands were able to equip themselves with SoC chips from many manufacturers: Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, or even Nvidia all offered their own. Gradually, Qualcomm has become dominant in the market, although the competition from MediaTek remains.

Manufacturers have always had the opportunity to develop their own chips at home. Apple is known for doing this, as are Samsung and Exynos. This division took a hit with the signing of a landmark agreement between Qualcomm and Samsung Electronics.

All featured products go to QUALCOMM
The agreement is very clear: Samsung agrees to expand its collaboration with Snapdragon platforms to include future high-end Samsung Galaxy products. That includes smartphones, and we’re obviously thinking about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23, as well as PCs, tablets, and extended-to-the-future reality headsets. The release leaves the door open for additional product categories, such as smartwatches.

In April, we learned that Samsung was considering sourcing from MediaTek for the Galaxy S22 FE and Galaxy S23. This may be an argument for the brand in its negotiations with Qualcomm. With this agreement, that appears to be no longer on the agenda.

However, it remains unclear whether Samsung will continue to offer the future Galaxy S ranges in two variants, one with a Snapdragon chip in the US, and one with an Exynos chip in Europe and Asia. It is assumed that all future high-end models are now moving to the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, although this has not been confirmed by either group. Samsung still wants to reassure the future of the Exynos with an explanation of its strategy.

Target patents on 6G
This deal isn’t just for future Samsung Galaxy products and Snapdragon platforms. Qualcomm and Samsung agreed to exchange licenses on their patents on 3G, 4G and 5G.

The press release goes so far as to mention the future of 6G with an exchange until 2030.
